Sean Chao and ‘Umi Toys Hawai’i present a series of five koi small displays in honor of Boys Day or Children’s Day celebrated on May 5th. In Hawai’i, many families fly koinobori or carp windsocks on Boys Day. The koi is an energetic and spirited fish that represents strength and courage.
It was Sean’s wishes that the proceeds be donated to a local charity helping during the current pandemic. Sean and ‘Umi Toys Hawai’i have partnered with the Show Aloha Challenge who will be receiving the proceeds from this koi small display series. Show Aloha Challenge provides jobs to local businesses and restaurants to provide meals for kupuna (elderly) in Hawai’i delivered to their doorsteps through Hawai’i Meals on Wheels.
Mike Gangloff, CEO of Mira Image Construction, has pledged to match all donations to the Show Aloha Challenge on May 5th up to $50,000. Purchases on Tuesday, May 5th would provide an additional $100 for the Show Aloha Challenge through Mr. Gangloff’s generous matching program incentive.
